Research & Grants Committee

Committee Mission & Members

As Evidence-Based Practice (EBP) continues to grow within our profession, the leadership of the Far West Athletic Trainer’s Association is committed to supporting exceptional research proposals that expand the body of knowledge and clinical practices in athletic training.

The mission of the FWATA Research and Grants Committee is to advance the discovery, dissemination, and application of scientific knowledge in athletic training domains through written and oral forums.  To assure the exchange of valuable information, the FWATA Research and Grants Committee follows standardized guidelines similar to those of the NATA Foundation.

Our committee administers two programs:

  • The FWATA Research & Grants Program provides recognition, financial support, and encouragement for quality research from members of District 8.
  • Funded projects must be designed to expand the body of knowledge in athletic training and improve clinical practice.
  • All District 8 members are welcome to apply for funding, up to $3,000.
  • Click here for grant instructions
  • Grant applications are due by April 1st, 2024 at 11:59 PM Pacific.
