CATA Hosts Local Legislators

Public Relations representatives of the California Athletic Trainers’ Association (CATA) and the Far West Athletic Trainers’ Association (FWATA) hosted local legislators to a Dodger game in September. Athletic Training Student Workshop held at Kamehameha Schools Hawaii

Athletic Trainers from the Big Island of Hawaii, led by Amy Malinowski of Kea’au High School, held a 2-day athletic training student workshop at Kamehameha Schools-Hawaii, July 15-16. AB 864 Provides Athletic Trainer Regulations, One Member Votes Against

California Assembly Bill 864 is an attempt to address the issue of under-qualified athletic trainers practicing in the profession. California is one of two states that does not have laws regulating the athletic training profession. The legislation was introduced by Assemblymember Nancy Skinner.
