17 CEUs total (12 Category A CEUs and 5 EBP CEUs) will be offered for the 2017 Annual Meeting & Clinical Symposium. Each registrant will receive one Certificate of Attendance for up to 12 Category A CEUs. Up to five (5) additional EBP CEUs* will be available to ATCs at no additional cost.
ANNUAL MEETING REGISTRATION

* In accordance with BOC guidelines, attendees must pre-register, check-in, attend, and complete a session evaluation form in order to earn and receive the EBP CEUs. The EBP CEU Certificates of Attendance will be available at the conclusion of each Evidence Based Practice session.

The FWATA Annual Meeting is intended primarily for Certified Athletic Trainers but will also have pertinent information and content for other health care providers. Sessions at this meeting will cover all 5 domains of athletic training: Injury/Illness Prevention and Wellness, Clinical Evaluation and Diagnosis, Immediate and Emergency Care, Treatment and Rehabilitation, and Organization and Professional Health and Well-Being. Educational sessions at this meeting, intended for Certified Athletic Trainers, according to the education levels described by the PDC, are considered to be Essential/Advanced/Mastery Level programming.

There will also be sessions designated for athletic training students. These sessions will primarily be composed of Essential Level programming.

The FWATA Research & Grants Committee conducts an awards competition for the Free Communications Program. Check Payment Deadlines:

  • EARLY Registration check payments must be postmarked by Tuesday, February 28, 2017.
  • ADVANCE Registration check payments must be postmarked by Friday, March 31, 2017.
  • LATE Registration check payments must be postmarked by Friday, April 14th or due upon check-in at the onsite registration area at convention.

General Cancellation and Refund Policy:
Refund requests must be sent in writing to gsehrke@interact.ccsd.net. If the request is made prior to refund deadline, FWATA will process your reimbursement no later than eight weeks after the last day of the Annual Meeting. Refunds will be issued in the same form as the payment received. FWATA will offer a full refund of registration fees up to one week prior to the start of the Annual Meeting (April 20, 2017 at 11:59pm). Refunds requested within a week of the start of the Annual Meeting will be subject to a $25.00 administrative fee. No cancellations will be processed after the final day of the Annual Meeting

Important Note: Registrants are responsible for being aware of the various cancellation policies/deadlines and applicable refunds for each selection made. The policies/deadlines can be found under the “Fees” tab of the registration website.

FWATA Non-Discriminatory Practices

Exhibit Hall 

A FWATA Symposium annual event, the exhibit hall will offer hands-on viewing of the latest in supplies and services in the sports medicine field. The exhibit hall will be open all day on Friday and in the morning Saturday for members to experience. Detailed hours will be posted as the event approaches.

Welcome Reception 

Hosted by the FWATA and the exhibitors, the Friday evening reception is a social event that allows FWATA members and guests to meet our vendors and exhibitors, network, and catch up with friends and colleagues. You will also have the opportunity to speak to the authors of the poster presentations at this event. You must have a name badge to attend.

FWATA Awards Dinner 

The annual FWATA Awards Dinner will take place Saturday, April 29 at 6:00pm and includes a pre-event social at 5:00pm (cash bar available). The Awards Dinner is ticketed event with one ticket included for each registrant.

Student Leadership Breakfast 

This is an annual event that offers students an opportunity to meet District and National Leaders and other ATCs from various settings in an intimate, casual setting. Space is extremely limited. Preregistration is required and a $20 cash deposit must be made upon registration check-in. Your deposit will be returned upon check-in for the event on Sunday.

FWATA is a “BOC Approved Provider.”

Please note that the provider numbers vary by category and/or individual sessions (i.e. EBP sessions have different provider numbers that are unique to each session) when reporting the CEUs you earned from FWATA Annual Meetings and Clinical Symposiums. The provider numbers is located towards the bottom of the CEU certificate of attendance.

For Category A CEUs, enter “Annual Meeting and Clinical Symposium” for Activity Ttile. For EBP CEUs, enter the title to the course you attended. Course titles are ocated toward the top of the EBP CEU Certificate of attendance. Listed below is the maxium number of CEUs that were available for each category, for each meeting. Registered attendees are responsible for tracking the actual number of CEU hours that they earned by attending various sessions.

This year’s convention attendance number of 1,098, which includes registered attendees, guest and exhibitors, set new record for the FWATA Annual Meeting and Clinical Symposium. With a variety of events, including EBP educational sessions, feature presentation labs, NATA workshops, student sessions, meetings, and social gatherings, FWATA offered something for everyone.

Thank you to all of our on-site convention volunteers for making this year’s Annual Meeting and Clinical Symposium a success! This event would not be possible without each of you and your willingness to donate your time and efforts. We had over 75 onsite volunteers and session moderators assist the Convention Committee in preparations and daily operations during convention week, many of whom signed up for multiple shifts. We would like to express our gratitude and appreciation to this year’s lead onsite volunteers, Leroy Heu, Justine Coliflores, Sanam Rezazadah, and Marissa Sumida. Your dedication, time and commitment to the Convention Committee was immeasurable. In addition, a special acknowledgment goes out to Michael Barreiro, our videographer.
