FWATA Annual Scholarship Golf Tournament

With the temperature at a comfortable 71 degrees and a mild breeze coming off the Pacific Ocean, it was a perfect day to host this year’s FWATA Scholarship Golf Tournament in San Diego, California. A record setting number of 73 were sent off and wished well by FWATA’s Managing Board Members for an early afternoon shotgun start. This year’s tournament champions came in 16 under par (for the non-golfers, that is very good) and won beautiful Nike Golf Departure Cabin Rollers. The team was composed of Rick Kunkleman, Donnie Ritter, Steve Caldron and Don Presser all from Visalia, California. The “Closest to Hole” prices, winning 2 tickets to Le Reve in Las Vegas went to Mike Miller and Alison Aubert. The 50/50 Hole Contest was won by Todd Babcock and the Longest Drive by Frank Casares and Adrienne Wilson. All other participants also won prices ranging from golf attire, Foobags to golf balls. The tournament raised $20,336.07 enough money to sponsor the 11 scholarships that are given out by FWATA, surpassing last year’s fundraising effort.
