Stanford ATs Attend IOC World Conference on Prevention of Injury and Illness in Sport
From April 10-12, 2014, several executive members of Stanford University’s athletic training staff (Scott Anderson, Eitan Gelber, Lindsey Dame, and Tomoo Yamada) attended The International Olympic Committee (IOC) World Conference on Prevention of Injury and Illness in Sport in Monaco.
The international conference featured world-renowned experts in a number of different sports medicine fields, including concussion management, running injuries, the overhead athlete, and injury surveillance and tracking using different technologies. The staff that attended were able to bring back new information and ideas to their current colleagues and plan to attend the next time the triennial conference is held in 2017.
