FWATA 2023 Awards Banquet
On July 13, 2023 District 8 “Far West Athletic Trainers Association” recognized their Honors and Awards winners during the Awards Banquet at the beautiful Hilton Waikoloa Village.
This special occasion began with an inspirational Oli (Hawaiian Chant to open and bless the event). NATA President Karen Dieringer gave opening remarks before everyone enjoyed an Island Flare buffet. After dinner FWATA Hall of Fame members in attendance and 50 year member, Jerry Lewis were recognized! Our 2023 Special Recognition and Most Distinguished Athletic Trainer awardee presenters gave a beautiful fresh lei and plaque to the awardees.

The presentation concluded with a special Tahitian dance performed by HATA member, Karin Carido, in honor of Lyn Nakagawa.
