The 2023 FWATA Annual Meeting and Clinical Symposium will be held from July 11-15 2023 in Kailua-Kona, Hawaii at the newly renovated Outrigger Kona Resort and Spa.

The 2023 FWATA Paul Schechter Memorial Scholarship Golf Tournament will be held during the FWATA AMCS. Proceeds go toward funding FWATA athletic training student scholarships. We will continue to provide updates as the event approaches.

Thank you for your interest in presenting at the FWATA Annual Meeting & Clinical Symposium, July 11 – 15, 2023 in Kona, Hawaii!  We welcome proposal submissions from FWATA members and nonmembers. Be sure to read the Proposal Guidelines for each program format prior to submission. They include valuable information that will strengthen your proposal submission.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION – READ BEFORE SUBMITTING YOUR PROPOSAL

  • Proposal topics must fall within one of the five domains of practice for athletic training. Detailed domain information can be found in the Board of Certification Role Delineation Study.
    I. Injury and Illness Prevention and Wellness Promotion
    II. Examination, Assessment, and Diagnosis
    III. Immediate and Emergency Care
    IV. Therapeutic Intervention
    V. Healthcare Administration and Professional Responsibility
  • All proposals submitted are evaluated through a 3-step review process.
  • Proposal submissions must avoid any affiliation with a commercial product or service.
  • Compensation for presenting at FWATA is provided as outlined in the FWATA Speaker Compensation Policy.
  • Proposals must be complete and accurate. Incomplete and/or late proposals will not be considered.
  • The deadline for submission is December 1, 2022.
  • Due to an increase in proposal submissions and the size of the convention facilities, all proposals will not be accepted. In this situation, topics will be selected based on the organization of the program, quality of content and speakers, and significance of the material to the FWATA membership.
  • Please see the proposal Guidelines documents for information regarding each proposal category. The Guidelines will clarify and provide examples of information required in the proposal submission sections.

FWATA is a “BOC Approved Provider.”
Please note that the provider numbers vary by category and/or individual sessions (i.e. EBP sessions have different provider numbers that are unique to each session) when reporting the CEUs you earned from FWATA Annual Meetings and Clinical Symposiums. The provider numbers is located towards the bottom of the CEU certificate of attendance.

For Category A CEUs, enter “Annual Meeting and Clinical Symposium” for Activity Title. For EBP CEUs, enter the title to the course you attended. Course titles are located toward the top of the EBP CEU Certificate of attendance. Listed below is the maximum number of CEUs that were available for each category, for each meeting. Registered attendees are responsible for tracking the actual number of CEU hours that they earned by attending various sessions.
