ANNUAL MEETING REGISTRATION

* In accordance with BOC guidelines, attendees must pre-register, check-in, attend, and complete a session evaluation form in order to earn and receive the EBP CEUs. The EBP CEU Certificates of Attendance will be available at the conclusion of each Evidence Based Practice session.

The FWATA (District 8) Research and Grants Committee invites abstract submissions for the Free Communications program. We are sponsoring Poster Presentation awards (with cash prizes for students!) and our Clinical Outcome Based Research Award (cash prize of $500).

We welcome proposal submissions from FWATA members and nonmembers. Be sure to read the proposal guidelines for each program format prior to submission.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION – READ BEFORE SUBMITTING YOUR PROPOSAL

  • Proposal topics must fall within one of the five domains of practice for athletic training. Detailed domain information can be found in the Board of Certification Role Delineation Study.
    • I. Injury and Illness Prevention and Wellness Promotion
    • II. Examination, Assessment and Diagnosis
    • III. Immediate and Emergency Care
    • IV. Therapeutic Intervention
    • V. Healthcare Administration and Professional Responsibility
  • All proposals submitted are evaluated through a 3-step review process.
  • Proposal submissions must avoid any affiliation with a commercial product or service.
  • Presenters are not permitted to exhibit.
  • Compensation for presenting at FWATA is provided as outlined in the FWATA Speaker  Compensation Policy.
  • Proposals must be complete and accurate with confirmed topic and speakers.
    Incomplete and/or late proposals will not be considered.
  • The deadline for submission is December 1, 2019.
  • Due to an increase in proposal submissions and size of the convention facilities, all proposals will not be accepted. In this situation, topics will be selected based on the organization of the program, quality of content and speakers, and significance of the material to the FWATA membership.

Check Payment Deadlines:

  • EARLY Registration check payments must be postmarked by Thursday, April 30, 2030.
  • ADVANCE Registration check payments must be postmarked by Friday, June 5, 2020.     ** Please note that this date is earlier than the final Advanced Registration deadline in order to ensure payment in received. Contact Ginger Ehrke if you have any questions regarding payment by check.
  • LATE Registration check payments MUST be made upon check-in at the onsite registration area at convention. Do not send payment by check after June 5, 2020. Contact Ginger Ehrke if you have any questions regarding payment by check.

General Cancellation and Refund Policy:
Registration and refund requests must be submitted in writing to salergc@nv.ccsd.net, no later than two weeks prior to the first day convention. All registration cancellations will be subject to a $25.00 processing fee. Request made prior to refund deadline will processed no later than eight weeks after the last day of the Annual Meeting. Refunds will be issued in the same form as the payment received. No cancellations will be accepted or processed after the final day of the Annual Meeting.

Important Note: Registrants are responsible for being aware of the various cancellation policies/deadlines and applicable refunds for each selection made. The policies/deadlines can be found under the “Fees” tab of the registration website.

Welcome Social and Luau
This year we are excited to bring our members and their families a traditional Hawaiian Luau onsite! The event will take place on the evening of Wednesday, July 15. It will be a memorable outdoor experience overlooking the exquisite views that surround the Sheraton Kona. We invite everyone to take advantage of the luau experience without having to travel off property! All attendees and family members are welcome. Enjoy an amazing Hawaiian tradition with FWATA! Annual FWATA Student Scholarship Golf Tournament

Exhibit Hall
A FWATA Symposium annual event, the exhibit hall will offer hands-on viewing of the latest in supplies and services in the sports medicine field. Detailed hours will be posted as the event approaches.

Research and Grants Committee Poster Presentations
Presenters will be available to discuss their work (times to be posted when they become available). Posters will be displayed for viewing.

FWATA Awards Dinner
The annual FWATA Awards Dinner will take place Friday, July 17 at 5:00pm with a pre-event social beginning at 4:00. This ticketed event is included in your registration fees.

FWATA is a “BOC Approved Provider.”

Please note that the provider numbers vary by category and/or individual sessions (i.e. EBP sessions have different provider numbers that are unique to each session) when reporting the CEUs you earned from FWATA Annual Meetings and Clinical Symposiums. The provider numbers is located towards the bottom of the CEU certificate of attendance.

For Category A CEUs, enter “Annual Meeting and Clinical Symposium” for Activity Ttile. For EBP CEUs, enter the title to the course you attended. Course titles are ocated toward the top of the EBP CEU Certificate of attendance. Listed below is the maxium number of CEUs that were available for each category, for each meeting. Registered attendees are responsible for tracking the actual number of CEU hours that they earned by attending various sessions.
