Bill Ito named CCCAA Athletic Trainer of the Year

On March 28, Mt. SAC Head Athletic Trainer Bill Ito was named California Community College Athletics Association (CCCAA) Athletic Trainer of the Year. The annual award is presented and voted by his peers in the California Community College Athletic Trainers Association. Since his arrival in January of 2008, Ito has served the Mt. SAC Student-Athletes, tending to their medical needs. He currently works with the men’s and women’s Cross Country and Track & Field Programs, Men’s and Women’s Soccer Programs, as well as the handling medical director duties for the world renown Mt. SAC Relays and Mt. SAC Cross Country Invitational. Ito has served on 10 USA Track and Field (USATF) delegations, including 5 world championship teams and the 2016 US Olympic Track and Field Team. He also serves as the Medical Director of the National Pole Vault Summit in Reno, Nevada. The Summit is the world’s largest gathering of pole vaulters, pole vault coaches and fans with over 43,000 attendees, including many of the top pole vaulters in the world.
