District 8 Director on Oprah.com
District 8 Director, Carolyn Peters, was recently invited to the Oprah.com studios for a taping on foot and ankle pain. Robin Waxenberg & Associates, public relations firm for the NATA, contacted Carolyn at the end of 2014 expressing Oprah.com wanted to produce a few segments on relieving foot and ankle pain. Filming began in April at the YouTube studio in Burbank, California.
“I came prepared with a couple of wardrobe options as I wasn’t sure how much demonstration I would be involved with. It was a great experience and something new to have a stylist steam my clothes, fix my hair and touch up my make up. I even wore fake eyelashes for the first time.” says Peters. After meeting Ami Desai, the OWN Show host, running through the script Carolyn convinced Ami into doing the demonstrations. “Her feet were in better shape than mine so the stylist attended to the host to make sure the feet where production ready. It didn’t take long to get the hang of what was required and I just kept thinking how I was representing the profession so I really tried not to screw it up. It was a wonderful experience, not an easy one but I enjoyed the opportunity to highlight Athletic Training to the public.” says Peters.
