Going virtual does not mean traditions could not continue. This year District 8 held our 2021 FWATA Quiz Bowl virtually consisting of AT program participants from California State University, Long Beach; California State University, Fullerton; Point Loma Nazarene University; University of the Pacific; and University of Nevada, Las Vegas. While it was a close competition and all participants did a great job, we want to congratulate the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV) for winning the 2021 Virtual FWATA Quiz Bowl. Please help us wish them the best as they will go on to represent our district in the 2021 NATA Quiz Bowl Competition. We would also like to commemorate our hard-working FWATA members for dedicating their time to put this event together. This event would not be possible without each of them and we would like recognize Charlenne Medina, Kavin Tsang, Mimi Nakajima, and Tedd Girouard for their efforts. Lastly, our event featured a variety of special guest athletic trainers, who submitted video questions to challenge our participants throughout the night. We want to acknowledge everyone who was a part of making this competition special: Cesar Roldan (Los Angeles Galaxy), Damon Mitchell (Los Angeles Clippers), Kyle Moore (Las Vegas Golden Knights), Lyn Nakagawa (FWATA D8 Director), Mark Rogow (San Diego Padres), Neil Rampe (Los Angeles Dodgers) Reggie Scott (Los Angeles Rams), Sean Kupiec (Los Angeles Football Club), Tory Lindley (NATA President), and the Golden State Warriors athletic training staff.
